Suzuki picked up two awards at this year’s AutoTrader awards ceremony, with the new GSX-R1000R and new V-Strom 650 both celebrated.
The all-new GSX-R1000R collected the accolade of best new sports bike for 2017. The new superbike boasts a plethora of MotoGP-derived technology, including a clever variable valve timing system that helps the GSX-R produce class-leading torque and a formidable mid-range, without sacrificing its top-end power.
It also gets a full suite of race-proven electronics, with an IMU monitoring all elements of the bike’s data to manage a 10-stage traction control system, launch control, and a system that prevents rear wheel lift under heavy braking. There’s also an up and down quickshifer and auto blipper, plus cornering ABS.
Also new-for-2017, the V-Strom 650 was awarded best adventure/trail bike. The V-Strom gets traction control for 2017, plus more power and torque. For more information on the GSX-R1000R click here
